Seeing me in person
Those who wish to see me in person are welcome to visit Bloomsburg. Bloomsburg is a nice college town located about 2 hrs drive north of Philadelphia, and 1.5 hrs drive north of Harrisburg.
I do not at this time have a local office, and am making housecalls instead (housecall surcharge waived within 10 miles of Bloomsburg as well as to Pump House BnB). The standard Office (not eConsultation) fee schedule is applied to in-person visits.
The municipal water in Bloomsburg is fluoridated, so you may want to bring along your filter of choice. Water filter options discussed on my blog page about fluoride.
For your convenience, here is a selection of some local businesses:
Pump House Bed and Breakfast: Organic food and coffee. A restful setting near the Catawissa Creek and a small forest. Accustomed to hosting those with special needs and also used to serving dairy and gluten free breakfasts. Free parking and free internet (although the area is rural and internet may not be as reliable). No strong-smelling cleaning chemicals used. Separate free-standing building with private meeting space being restored. Tends to be booked for weddings on weekends, so availability is limited to weekdays, Monday afternoons through Friday mornings.
College Hill Bed and Breakfast: Will cater to special diets. No strong cleaning chemicals used. Free wi-fi. Parking is off-street. Seating area in guest suite for private consultation.
Yellow Gables Bed and Breakfast: Conveniently located in downtown Bloomsburg, walking distance to many things. Off street parking. Will cater to gluten and dairy free. Further details on their website.
Other options may include airbnb, motel chains, etc.
Wanderlust Cafe: Organic and vegan light fare with delicious smoothies and fresh juices. Highly recommended! Located in downtown Bloomsburg. May be closed on mondays (call to check). May close around 6 pm. Metered parking in front (takes nickles, dimes, and quarters), free street parking on side roads further away.
The Bling Pig: Downtown Bloomsburg on a side street. Wed to Sun, 5 to 9pm. Cash or check only. Gourmet cooking with high quality organic local and seasonal ingredients. Best quality food in town. Reservations highly recommended. Best for those with food sensitivities. Does not serve alcohol.
Filet 18: Downtown Bloomsburg. Open for lunch and dinner. Beautiful decor. Very decent food, although many dishes tend to contain dairy and gluten, sometimes hidden. Some things cooked in duck fat (an excellent fat for cooking). Their house salad is real vegetables, not iceberg lettuce. Extensive beverage menu. Street signage is not very prominent (so may be hard to spot). Metered parking in front, free street parking on side roads further away.
The Farmhouse at Turkey Hill: Has vegetarian and gluten free options. Excellent food. Works with local farms.
Turkey Hill Brewing Co Pub and Grille: Very good food. Always fairly crowded and parking lot is fairly full. Has free Wifi.
Bloom Naturally (Health Food store): One store in Bloomsburg and another in Danville. Closed on sundays. The Bloomsburg store has a small parking lot in front.
Baker's Guild (Columbia Cty Bread): Very high quality artisan breads and sprouted products. Located in downtown Bloomsburg down a side street. They keep shorter hours and close fairly early.
